Crashmire or a penetration test: which one to choose?
A penetration test looks for technical flaws in your applications and infrastructure. It does not measure what an AI agent decides to do with the access it was given.
| a penetration test | Crashmire | |
|---|---|---|
| What is tested | Technical flaws: configuration, authentication, application vulnerabilities, network. | Your agent's behaviour as it is (prompt, tools, rules) when its target is out of reach or someone tries to trick it: does it cross a line? |
| How it works | Auditors attack your systems, with your permission and with access. | A service: you describe the agent, we replay it on several models and several runs. No access to your systems, nothing to install. |
| Who it is for | CISOs and technical teams, for the whole information system. | Executives, risk and compliance, CISOs, business teams deploying an agent; from SMBs to large organisations. |
| What you get | A report of technical vulnerabilities and their fixes. | A report for management: flaws with how they happened, tested fixes (before / after), mapping to the AI Act and OWASP, a re-test included. |
| Price | Usually per auditor day, on quote. | Public prices: online from €490 excl. VAT for an SMB, €4,900 to €25,000 for a large organisation, continuous monitoring from €36,000 a year. |
